USCIS Completes Data Entry of Fiscal Year 2019 H-1B Cap-Subject Petitions

USCIS announced on May 15th the completion of its data entry for all FY 2019 H-1B cap-subject petitions selected in its computerized random selection and will begin returning those that were not selected. Due to the high volume, there is no definite time frame for this process and petitioners are asked to postpone inquiries on status until they have a receipt notice or their returned petition. It will be announced once this has been completed for all the unselected petitions.

USCIS may also transfer some H-1B cap-subject petitions between the Vermont Service Center and the California Service Center to balance its distribution of cap cases. If an individual's case is transferred, he or she will receive notification in the mail. If such a notification is received, all future correspondence is to be sent to the center now processing the petition.
